Man drowns in his own faeces after his friend failed to rescue him from pit toilet

A Russian man drowned in his own faeces after falling into a decaying cesspit and being left there for 12 hours.Andrey Golubov, 36, was using the communal toilet outside an apartment block in Murmansk in north-west Russia, when the wood-cover gave way.

According to Dailymail, despite alerting a friend who came to use the bathroom after him, Mr Golubov's pleas for help were ignored - because his friend assumed he could get out by himself.

Mr Golubov's friend Konstantin Polyakov, 30, has defended his actions, saying he did not know the number to emergency services.

Mr Polyakov said he visited the communal cesspit around 3am, and saw Mr Golubov inside the pit.

'I didn't want to urinate on his head so I went somewhere else, and then went back to bed.I didn't have a phone number for the emergency services and assumed he would be able to get out by himself.'

The next day when other friends turned up and Mr Polyakov told them what had happened, they raised the alarm, but by then it was too late.

Neighbour Yuri Blokhin, 60, who also shares the cesspit, said: 'He was on his back with his eyes wide open.
'The problem is that these buildings are so old everything is falling apart.'None of us has our own toilet so we are forced to use this hole, and no one cleans it out.'

 A police spokesman said:
'The man spent over 12 hours in the toilet, lost his strength to stay afloat and drowned. We are treating this as an accident.'

In Chile Calbuco volcano erupts for the 3rd time in less than 2 weeks

Reports say the latest eruption was less powerful, but sent a large plume of dark grey smoke and ash rising from the crater.

Chile's Calbuco volcano has erupted for the third time in 8 days, leading the government to order the evacuation of 2,500 people, BBC reports.

Reports say the latest eruption was less powerful, but sent a large plume of dark grey smoke and ash rising from the crater.

Following the latest eruption, the National Geology and Mines Service issued a red alert warning that the volcano remained unstable, even as many of the residents who will again be evacuated only just returned to their homes after last week's eruptions.

While  the ash last week was blown in a north-easterly direction, this time it is drifting south-east over the town of Cochamo, blanketing it in a cloud of smoke and ash.

Calbuco, which is one of the most active volcanoes in Chile surprised residents of the Los Lagos region last week by bursting into life after 54 years of inactivity.

It has erupted in 1961 and 1972, and many times before that.

Nigerian Nurse Arrested In The USA After Killing Baby With Boiling Water (See Photo)

Little Naomi Mondesire with her mom, Cynthia. Naomi, who was 22-months old, suffered third-degree burns that led to her death, authorities said.

A cold-hearted Queens nurse was nabbed Wednesday as she was about to board a plane out of the country and leave behind her horrific crime — the killing of a 22-month-old girl from a bath so scalding-hot the child’s skin peeled off, police said.                  It was the second day that Oluyemisi Adebayo, 54, was caring for Naomi Mondesire at the child’s home on Memphis Ave. near 145th Ave. in Rosedale. The premature toddler was born at just 25 weeks and needed a tracheotomy tube to breathe. Naomi spent her first year in the hospital, her grandmother said, and still needed to be fed through a tube.
Around 7:25 p.m. on Saturday, Adebayo, a licensed practical nurse, submerged little Naomi in water so hot that it actually burned pieces of skin off the child, according to authorities. The young girl died Monday.

“She couldn’t even scream,” said Naomi’s grandmother Gardite Mondesire, 54, who was at a nearby library when a tenant called her with the terrible news.

“When I got home, my tenant was running around picking up pieces of skin. It was all over the floor. It was all over the tub," she said.

Mondesire called Adebayo and asked her what happened. “She said ‘It’s bad. I did something bad. The baby got burned,’” Mondesire said. “But she said she didn’t know how.”

Adebayo was arrested around 7a.m. Wednesday at Kennedy Airport as she tried to board a flight for Nigeria, where she is from, authorities said. She was charged with murder.
