CanadaFemale hacker charged to court for spying
She showed them some pornography on the screen just to see how they would react.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has charged Valérie Gignac a 27 year old female hacker from Saint-Alphonse-de-Rodriguez, Canada for spying.
She
was charged in court with four counts. She was charged for allegedly
remotely controlling people’s computers, using her victim's webcams to
spy on them and also harassing them.
Constable Philippe Gravel of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) integrated technological crime unit said “She
spoke with them, she interacted with them. She showed them some
pornography on the screen just to see how they would react.”
Investigators
say Gignac used her online hacking forum with over 35,000 users
worldwide to gain access and eavesdrop on people’s private
conversations.
They said she also communicated
with victims through their computer speakers and forcefully logged them
to onto extreme pornography websites.
Gignac’s lawyer, Michel Leclerc
in his defence, said his client never intended to defraud anybody of
their hard earned money. In his words, 'It’s just a bad prank'
