The report has it
that after Siddique realised that his 25-year-old wife, Shabana Bibi,
had visited her sister without first seeking permission, he became
enraged and by the time she came back, he and his father and the two
others descended on her and beat her mercilessly, after which they set her on fire.
According
to Bibi's brother, Muhammad Azam, Siddique and his father brutally beat
Bibi before covering the woman in gasoline and setting her on fire.
Bibi
was taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save her as she
suffered burns to 80% of her body and pased away few days later.
Azam
added that his sister had suffered from repeated domestic abuse at the
hands of Siddique throughout the couple’s three years old marriage and
was said to have often blamed her for their inability to have children.
