9 ways to know you are a good mother

Everyone, society included, puts so much pressure on mothers to be perfect, however, the following show you that you are doing motherhood just right.

Smiling mother and child

Motherhood, though rewarding, is simply not easy as there are no set of rules or guidelines to follow.
It is something that just comes from within, it comes from seeing your maternal instincts, from seeing your baby and knowing instinctively what to do.
Being a good mother also comes from having good role models combined with aged and maturity.
Although there is no one way of differentiating bad from good, the following ways are to let you know that are doing good.
  1. Smiling children- If you children are smiling 90 percent of the time, you are definitely doing good.
  2. If they share with others- Being a mother involves giving your children the right tools they need to survive in this crazy world, especially when you are no more, so if your kids have learnt how to share, then you are on the right track.
  3. You are a disciplinarian- While it is cool to be friends with your children, your first, most important role is to be their mother whether they like it or not, so, it is vital that you are not afraid to discipline your children when necessary.
  4. Your children have manners- If your children can say please, thank you without being told or prodded, you are doing extremely well.
  5. Their needs overshadow yours- Motherhood is not for self centered people, so, if you are can put your children's needs to eat, bath and so on, above yours, you are a great mother who gets the concept of motherhood.
  6. Your children hug you- The importance of emotional demonstrations such as hugs can not be overemphasized, your children should be hug, this shows that while they respect you, they are not afraid of you. It also helps in creating a formidable bond between you and your child, thereby making an even better mother.
  7. They love spending time with you especially when they don't have to.
  8. You get over the little things- While motherhood is certainly overwhelming, it is important to stop crying over spilt milk, that is worrying over things you have no control over, and focus on the big picture. You are a good mom when you can simply focus on things you can control and handing over the rest to someone who can, God.
  9. You are a good mother if your children trust you, especially when it matters.
Regardless of how inadequate and incompetent you occasionally feel,as long as you making an effort everyday, you can congratulate yourself because you are doing just fine

Why you should definitely eat eggs

A lot of people stay away from eggs because of cholesterol, but this is not necessarily true, find out how below.

Eggs

Eggs have gotten a lot of negative rap over the years, but most, if not all, are just fabrications.
The main reason why people stay away from eggs is because it is said to have cholesterol, therefore it is bad for the body, however, this is not the case.

The fact is that our bodies make lots of cholesterol, 5-10 times the cholesterol in a large egg.
So, what happens is that when you eat more cholesterol from foods like eggs, your body produces less of it, and when you eat less cholesterol from foods like eggs, your body produces more.

Due to the fear of cholesterol from eggs, people remove egg yolks from their diet not realizing that they contain 90 percent of the calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, thiamin, B6, folate, pantothenic acid and B12 of the egg.

Egg yolk also contains all of the fat-soluble components, such as vitamins A, D and E, not to mention the heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

The yolks are also a rich source of some other very interesting nutrients such as choline, lutein and zeaxanthin, these help protect the eyes; brain and cardiovascular function amongst many others.

Eggs are really good for the body, so, except you have diabetes or a rare genetic disorder, make sure you incorporate eggs into your diet, you won't regret it!

7 easy but effective ways to quit your old lifestyle and start afresh

7 easy but effective ways to quit your old lifestyle and start afresh

Truly you can have a happy, contented and satisfying lifestyle but you simply can't stumble upon happiness like that, it takes some steps to get there.
 Single and free woman

Are you unhappy with your current lifestyle and you are looking for ways to break away from it?
Truly you can have a happy, contented and satisfying lifestyle but you simply can't stumble upon happiness like that, it takes some steps to get there.
So if you want to work for it, Holly Riordan of All Women Stalk gives 7 easy ways to achieve that:

  1. Say goodbye to social media: If you're unhappy with your life, you're probably unhappy with some of the people in your life. That means that you should spend time apart from them. When you have an account on every social media site that exists, it's difficult to escape photos and messages from people you want to keep your distance from. That's why deleting your social media sites are one of the best ways to make a new start for yourself. That way, the only people who will communicate with you will be the ones who actually take the time out of your day to visit you at your home or call you to make plans.

  2. Make yourself move: If you want to go with the most extreme option, you can move to a new town. You don't have to travel to an entirely new country or state. As long as you're in a new town, you'll have new neighbors and strangers to see at the grocery store. If you can't afford the move, a vacation (or staycation) will have to work.

  3. Get past your past: If you want to make a new start for yourself, you have to put the past behind you first. You'll never feel like you're entering a new stage of life if you keep dwelling on the stuff that happened years ago. You need to learn to let go if you want to move forward.
  4. List your life goals: Figure out what you want in your "new life" and do whatever you can to get it. Do you want a diploma? Do you want children? Do you want a stable job? It doesn't matter what you're aiming for as long as you try your best to achieve it.

  5. Eliminate awful habits: If you stop biting your nails or drinking so much alcohol, you could end up feeling like an entirely different person. You don't want your vices to make you feel bad about yourself. You need to have confidence and eliminating your bad habits is a great way to boost it.

  6. Try to treat yourself: You need to think positive thoughts and treat yourself with respect. That means you're not allowed to insult your appearance when you look in the mirror. It also means that you should exercise and eat healthy. Treat your mind and body the way it deserves.

  7. Know what's wrong: The most important thing to ask yourself is what you hate about your current life. Whatever it is, you need to change it, so make sure you sit down and really think about what you're unhappy about. Once you figure it out, the rest should be easy.

NFF's new Nike deal worth $2.75m (535m Naira)

Nigeria announce benefits in new kit deal with Nike

The NFF has announced expected earnings from the three-and-half-year deal reached with the American sportswear company to supply kit to the national teams

The Nigeria Football Football Federation has revealed that it would earn $2.75m (535m Naira) during its three-and-half-year partnership with Nike and a $500,000 (99m Naira) bonus if the Super Eagles qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia among other perks.

The contract is worth $750, 000 (148m Naira) in its first year and would rise to $1million (198m Naira) each year from 2016 till 2018.
After ending its previous 700,000 Euros-a-year contract (150m Naira) with German giants Adidas in December, the NFF has opted to go with Nike in a three-and-half-year deal which will see the American sportswear company supply kits from April 1, 2015, until at least 2018.

The country has now joined Nike’s portfolio of federation sponsorships which include Australia, Brazil, England, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea and the U.S. among others.

NFF president Amaju Pinnick told the federation's website: “We are comfortable with the contract, because NIKE came across during the negotiations as being fluid and ready to listen to our demands. That is always the key aspect; you always need a partner with a listening ear."

“Nigeria football is happy to associate with a global leader and I am much convinced this is just the beginning. As we go along, NIKE may also be willing to partner with some of our domestic clubs and even the League Management Company," he concluded.

Nike will design performance and training apparel, and equipment, including team kits and footballs, for the Nigerian national football team players at every level of the game.

Husband, family set wife ablaze for leaving home without permission

A Pakistani man and his father has been arrested after they set his wife ablaze because she left home without permission.

Honour killing is prevalent in Asia
In what is generally called honour killing in some parts of Asia, a husband, Muhammad Siddique, his father and two other family members in Pakistan have been arrested for setting the man's wife on fire after she left their house without taking permission from them, reports Yahoo News.

The report has it that after Siddique realised that his 25-year-old wife, Shabana Bibi, had visited her sister without first seeking permission, he became enraged and by the time she came back, he and his father and the two others descended on her and beat her mercilessly, after which they set her on fire.
According to Bibi's brother, Muhammad Azam, Siddique and his father brutally beat Bibi before covering the woman in gasoline and setting her on fire.

Bibi was taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save her as she suffered burns to 80% of her body and pased away few days later.

Azam added that his sister had suffered from repeated domestic abuse at the hands of Siddique throughout the couple’s three years old marriage and was said to have often blamed her for their inability to have children.
